How To: Super Defined Twist Out on Natural Hair

Hey Sistas! Are you looking for a super defined twist out style that requires absolutely no fluffing? Well, look no further! In this twist out tutorial, I will show you how to achieve just that! Watch the tutorial or follow the directions below. Lets get started!

Products Needed:

  • Comb
  • Brush
  • Styling product of your choice

The Process:

Step 1: Start with freshly washed hair and apply your leave-in conditioner
Step 2: Allow your hair to air-dry
Step 3: Section your hair in the way you want to twist your hair
Step 4: Add product to your hair
Step 5: Finger detangle and use a detangling brush to make sure the first section is fully detangled
Step 6: Two stand flat twist your first, detangled section. Make sure you’re twisting up and towards the back of your head. If you don’t know how to flat twist, you can check out this tutorial for more detailed instructions.

  1. That “No Fluff” defined twist out is everything on you…I have thinner hair and just can’t achieve that same look. I also have extremely low porous hair so it gets very large and undefined within minutes of taking out the twists. :-(

Any help on what products help with low porosity?

  2. I love the twist but struggle with product to keep it moist. Conditioners don’t keep the look past day 1. Any suggestions? ???

  3. So looking forward to this twist out style in the near future. My hair isn’t that length yet. So fresh and pretty!

  4. I love it !
I am french so excuse me for my sentences….
I have a question, What is the size of your hair ? I would like a lot of volume, but i think my hair are short for this…

    Bye !

  5. I also love this style I achieved it before but as the years go on my hair doesn’t give me that volume it always did.

Is it because of my products? Or…. Help anyone!!

  6. Very informative ! I love a good Twist Out and it’s my go to style these days. I grow out mt hair now afer haircut like http://newaylook.com/best-short-hairstyles-black-women/ As the temperature drops I’m not trying to be going outside with my hair wet, ain’t nobody got time to be sitting in the hospital with pneumonia. A Twist Out allows me to keep it cute without being cold. It also elongates the hair and eliminates some shrinkage

  7. Awesome!! loved it and it looks very nice on you. I usually twist my hair as well but, not the way you do it. I will definitely try it. Thanks for sharing
