How To: Do It Yourself (DIY) Real Satin Bonnets

Hey Sistas! In this tutorial, I show you how you can make your very own real satin bonnets by hand or with a sewing machine. Enjoy!

  • Real Satin Fabric
  • Fabric Pins
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Thread
  • Needle
  • Disappearing ink/ Mark-be-gone pen
  • White Chalk Pencil
  • Iron
  • Ironing Board
  • Elastic
  • Heat Bond Hem or Seam Tape

  • Real Satin Fabric
  • Fabric Pins
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Thread
  • Needle
  • Disappearing ink/ Mark-be-gone pen

  • Sewing Machine
  • Decorative Embellishments
  • Elastic
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Card Board

  • 2in Ribbon
  • Seam Ripper
  • Button hole attachment
  • Sewing Machine

  • Smooth Stretch Headband
  • Sewing Machine
  • Lace
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Serger
  • Card Board

  1. This is so helpful! I will certainly be using this dyi video to help guide me through making my. I hate the cheap polyester materials that are sold in the local beauty supply stores so buying the fabric and making my own that fit my head perfectly will be so much better.

    It would be a huge help if you guys can make a video for satin liked winter hats. I can’t find where to buy them anywhere (cute ones at least) but I have tons of hats that I can’t use because the fabric either dries/pulls my hair out or messes up my styles horribly so I opt out of wearing one but for the brutal cold months of a New York winter is just not smart…help would be so greatly appreciated. Love you guys so much! Xo
